Since Flickchart’s now launched to the public, we decided to give the blog a bit of a design makeover as well. We’re now showcasing some of the content found elsewhere on the web – on Twitter, Facebook, and FriendFeed. We hope you enjoy the new look, and we’ll be coming back around here more often to keep all of you up to speed on what we’ve got in store for Flickchart.

    Looks good! Though, I have always considered Friendfeed to be redundant (Sidebar bottom), since it’s just showing the exact same thing as the other social sites, and with less graphical quality.

    I like the Facebook integration you guys rolled out… now I’m wondering when Twitter integration will come. I haven’t found a site that does it to full effect, or even well, yet (in terms of publishing what you do in one place on Twitter for you)…

    Maybe it could due a simply message for any day that you use it, like: “THE DARK KNIGHT went from #400 to #1 on Nathan’s #FLICKCHART today! http://flickchart.com/NateTheGreat3i13” OR “Matthew ranked NAPOLEON DYNAMITE for the first time today, sending it to #200 on #Flickchart! http://flickchart.com/MatthewWatthew0193“.

    Man, I got long-winded for some reason late at night :D Well, hope those ideas are somewhat inspiring, and again, keep up the great work, kiddos!

    Twitter integration is still on the to-do list. Would have to balance it so that you wouldn’t be spamming your Twitter feed too much. If it was every movie you added, that would get noisy pretty quickly. There are certainly a few ways we could do it though, where you can choose when to post it. Sharing the matchups themselves, and perhaps your favorite movie by genre, year, decade, etc. would work really well. Tweeting your discussions comments on the matchups would be cool as well, to bring others into the debate. Lots of ideas!

    Any step is a step in the right direction. I certainly agree that having customizable options would be best, so that you didn’t spam your Twitter. You just have to find a balance, and I suppose that balance would be different for each person depending on their taste, or Twitter friends.
