You know, I was remiss in not mentioning that this review was inspired by Daniel Rohr’s previous User Showcase article: Empirical Evidence that Flickchart is the Future of Film Criticism. (Apologies to Mr. Rohr.)

Awww, that’s sweet of you…Seriously though, great job running with the idea, hope you have time for some more.

I do think you’re insane for ranking solely with the “Which movie would I rather watch RIGHT NOW?” method. I’ve tried it and that’s how awful, terrible, indefensible guilty pleasures like THE LOVE GURU end up inside an otherwise respectable top 10%.

You’re killing me Dan. THE LOVE GURU is #736 on my Flickchart, out of 1029. I’m frankly surprised it’s that high.

@Daniel Rohr: Thanks. The biggest problem with me continuing with this idea is that I do not go to the theater very often at all. And if I do, I often don’t go opening weekend. Took me a month to get to both Avatar and Toy Story 3, and they’re the only other two movies I’ve seen at the theater in the past year.

And, well, everybody has their own method for Flickcharting. For me, films are entertainment first, art second. Doesn’t mean a movie can’t be both, but that’s why I watch movies in the first place.

I’m just now going to go rank The Godfather, after seeing it for the first time. I’ll tell you right now, it’s only going to be middle of my chart somewhere.

[…] Happy to see this has been well-received by the Flickchart community. The first two (yes, both) are classics and it’s nice to see the series return to being bad-ass. Check out Flickchart user johnmason’s review. […]
