He’s been rumored to be up for the role for a while, but now Josh Brolin has officially signed on to star in director Spike Lee‘s remake of Chan-wook Park‘s Korean revenge thriller Oldboy. Having just finished filming Men in Black 3, it looks like Brolin will fit in Oldboy between shooting Gangster Squad for Warner Bros., and Jason Reitman‘s Labor Day, opposite Kate Winslet.
At one time, DreamWorks was looking to pick up the rights to Oldboy, with Steven Spielberg intended to direct Brolin’s Men in Black 3 co-star, Will Smith. Now, Spike Lee is developing the remake from a script by Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend).

For the past five years, Marvel has unofficially kicked off the summer movie season with their fantastic lineup of superheroes. With big names like Wolverine, Spider-Man and Iron Man at their disposal, they have dominated the last half-decade of setting the bar high for the beginning of the summer. Thank you, Coen Brothers, because this was shaping up to be one of the most soulless slates of Christmas wide releases ever assembled. True Grit has a 96% on RottenTomatoes after 73 reviews and stars Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Josh Brolin.

I really like Jack Black, but this reimagining of the classic story looks pretty terrible. Emily Blunt, Amanda Peet and Jason Segel round out the very solid cast.

This franchise looks tired. After 44 reviews, it has a 9% on RottenTomatoes.
Animated owl movie directed by Zack Snyder and starring Jim Sturgess and Hugo Weaving. I think it looks like it’s at least worth a watch on the eventual Blu-ray.
